One of our subscribers has shared this anecdote with us. A girl named Vartika (name altered) once traveled to a village to attend her friend’s wedding. Upon arriving to the village, she observed that the residents of the home where the wedding was taking place had erected a salt barrier around it. She inquired, but she received no response. The girl getting married was seated in the mandap(ritual place) on the day of the wedding. Her mouth began to contort, and then her entire body began to turn blue. When Vartika touched the girl after realizing everything, the girl grabbed Vartika by the throat, knocking her out. Vartika discovered the girl was married when she started to regain consciousness. According to the family, the house was haunted by a ghost because the salt barrier that had been built around it had eroded someplace.
